Sleep In - Royal Edition

For one of the editions of Sleep in Architecture and Design, which took place in Porto under the theme Royal Edition, Casa 23 presented a space that combines contemporary design, national history and sensory narrative.

In this enigmatic exhibition, the proposal was to create a lounge for a fictional character , who arrived from Africa with his estate, and wanted a lounge to receive personalities from the city of Porto for afternoons and evenings of socializing.

Sandra Pinto and Miguel Ferraz presented a room with a rich and authentic visual narrative, where every object has a story, every texture has meaning and every color evokes a place, an emotion, a memory.

The giant panels, created especially for this project, aim to bring the warm color of the African earth to interior - the shades of ochre, rust, terracotta and gold transport you to infinite landscapes, luminous savannahs and unforgettable sunsets.

We mixed contemporary furniture with handmade pieces, natural fabrics with ethnic art, creating a sophisticated balance between European comfort and African soul. The environments were designed to welcome and celebrate: a home that respects the past, embraces the present and opens up to the future with elegance and authenticity.

More than decorating, this project honors an identity. Because a house can also be a bridge between worlds.

Casa 23's participation was also recorded under the artistic eye of @filipemariares, whose sensitive perspective revealed the essence of the space created.
